Am I Alive?

Wed Jul 22, 2009, 11:01 AM
Why yes, turns out I am...

Forgive me for being vacant and neglecting my dear da site. Life has been pretty hectic since last time I wrote a journal, so I guess I'll quickly catch everyone up.

August 2008: I concluded my first season up on Mount St. Helens and have fallen in love with the job. My bosses dubbed me the "Tough Cookie Rookie" for my hard work in such a short period of time.

September 2008: Back in Eureka, hanging out with my sorority sisters like Shenise, Justine, Emelia, and Amanda. Tons of fun. Start swimming and lifeguard at a pool that works!

October 2008: Phi Omega wins Homecoming! Yay for us! In the main skit, I ran around pretending to be Michael Phelps (because he was still cool at the time.) Still swimming and working.

November 2008: John proposed! He played the "I wanna grow old with you" song from "The Wedding Singer" and made me cry.

December 2008: Home for the Holidays, can't complain. Except when the snow is so heavy, my plane is delayed several hours and Mom and I make it to Hood River just before they closed I-84. Crazy, no? I had a blast with my folks and telling Danielle, Hayley, Sadie and the gang that I'm engaged and retelling the "how did it happen?".

January 2009: Back to school and back to swimming, my times have been alright, not my fastest, but the best was yet to come. I knew it. My last semester of classes.

February 2009: I started reading my Michael Phelps book the day he was busted. I found a passage that I wanted to email to Mom and when I logged on, Phelps and his picture was in the headlines. An omen? Couldn't be! Well, the final swim meet comes, the last of my college career as a swimmer and my events are the 200 IM on Day 1, 400 IM on Day 2 and my personal favorite/best 200 Fly. Day 1 in the morning goes smoothly, we have enough people for a relay this year (a good one) and it's nice to be swimming both individual and relay events. The night of the first day, our coach forgot that the A relays swim at night and our girls team missed our relay. We scrambled in time to save the boys, but nothing for us. Turns out we were DQ'ed and couldn't swim the rest of the meet. (*insert many vulger exchanges with oneself*) Looks like Phelps was an omen, at least to my EC Career.

March 2009: We have our banquet for our swim season. (*insert more vulger things*) What a great way to comemorate a freakin' disaster. *sigh* Water under the bridge, right? Crap...

April 2009: Crunch time. I have an art show halfway through the month and have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off to finish pieces, design/order show cards, get publicity for the show, hang/arrange my pieces, but it all gets done in time with lots of positive reviews from friends and faculty.

May 2009: My family flies in! The Hale Family meets the Isom/Richardson Family and there was much rejoicing. And of course there is GRADUATION!!! I'm a College Graduate! AHHHHH!!!!!!! Excited and still can't believe it at times. Humph... I graduated with a Bachelor's Associate in English Writing with an Art Minor and I graduated Cum Laude, with honors! John is staying the summer with me at Mount St. Helen's since we are both interpretive rangers up here.

June/July 2009: Back at the volcano and in the swing of things. Because gov. computers don't allow facebook, I have more time for DA!

Forgive the insanely long length of this update. My goal is to get more of my art and writing pieces up on DA since it's been awhile, and update that id too.

Everyone will buy my seemingly innocent toys and pay their hard earned money for them!

So then the toys will rise up and destroy them?

No, you ninny, they just SIT there. People will go nuts wondering WHEN they'll rise up and destroy them!

PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE POST. IT'S SO DANG TRUE*
1. At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. If not for you, someone may not be living.
8. You are special and unique.
9. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
10. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
11. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely turned your back on the world.
12. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you believe in yourself, probably, sooner or later, you will get it.
13. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks. 14. Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know.
15. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great. Add this as a comment to ten of your friends tonight and at midnight your true love will find you. Something good will happen to you at 2:25 tomorrow. Get ready for the biggest shock of your life. Whoever breaks this chain letter will be cursed with 10 relationship problems for the next ten years tag ur it!! this is so scary!!! send this to 15 ppl in the next 143 min. and then press F6 and your crushes name will appear in big letters!! it is so scary because it works
